Rusty has over 30 years of experience in the areas of accounting and finance. He generally serves clients in the role of Controller or CFO, on both a fractional and interim basis. His primary industry experience is in construction, nonprofits, and banks. He also has extensive experience in selecting and implementing new accounting systems and financial reporting, including SEC filings. He has developed internal accounting controls and has worked with management in developing internal reporting systems highlighting business strengths and weaknesses.

Rusty served as the treasurer of Blakemore Construction Corporation for nearly 20 years, selecting and implementing a new accounting and internal financial reporting system. He also was responsible for surety bond relationships, banking relationships, cash management, human resources, employee benefits, and safety while at Blakemore. Prior to joining Blakemore, Rusty was the controller and vice-president of Heritage Savings Bank. While there, his responsibilities included all internal financial reporting, SEC filings, and developing a system of internal control. Rusty also spent time with McGladrey and Pullen, a national public accounting firm. During his six years at McGladrey and Pullen, he supervised multiple audit teams, trained staff members in audit procedures, prepared and reviewed financial reports in accordance with GAAP, and prepared and reviewed corporate, personal, and nonprofit tax returns.
