Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Warren Whitney’s Controller consultant will provide hands-on oversight of all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, and maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records. The consultant will aim to enhance the accuracy of the client’s reported financial results and ensure that reporting complies with generally accepted accounting principles. The Controller’s responsibilities and may include:

• Provides consultative leadership to the clients’ finance, accounting, and payroll departments.
• Oversees the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets.
• Manage the timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate income tax compliance, outsourced payroll, and vendor management.
• Manage and oversee budget development, implementation, reconciliation and reporting for annual budgets and long-term financial planning.
• Creates, develops and analyzes managerial reports to improve the performance of the company and conducting ROI analysis to prioritize and direct investment to provide the best return.
• Provides consultation on optimizing internal organization processes and infrastructure that will allow the company to continue to grow and fulfill its long-term goals.
• Work with the clients’ leadership team to set priorities, including determining revenue plans and forecasting; expenditures for regular operations and exploring and implementing strategic growth opportunities.
• Partner with information technology to verify the integrity of systems, controls, processes and data, and enhance the company’s value.
• Provide counsel on Accounting/Finance related policies & procedures, compliance and regulatory requirements in accordance with client’s policies and applicable laws.
• Represents Warren Whitney in a professional manner on client site, at networking events and while interacting with internal personnel

• Other assigned duties or special projects, as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area. MBA preferred, but not required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• Minimum 10 years of proven successful accounting / finance leadership experience managing a department and staff; modeling and putting into practice team building, conflict resolution and human resources development.
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial regulatory guidelines and procedures as related to (501 (c)3), SFAS 116 and 117 (preferred)
• Hands on experience in budgeting, managerial accounting, financial management, benefits optimization, and relationship management.
• Successful experience in leading change, innovation and process improvement in diverse work environments.
• Excellent communication skills including written, meeting facilitation and presentations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, accounting and reporting systems (e.g., QuickBooks and ERP), payroll and timekeeping systems and other related systems.

Warren Whitney consultants work autonomously and independently manage client portfolios. Hours may vary, but typically run 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Compensation

Warren Whitney provides a full package of benefits, including health coverage, a matched retirement account, and disability. Compensation is based on billing.
