Kathleen Finderson
Kathleen Finderson serves clients as senior accountant and office manager, including general ledger maintenance, financial statement generation, account analysis, audit workpaper preparation, and management reporting. In addition, Kathleen has experience in developing company policies and procedures and handling a company’s purchasing needs. She has experience in the nonprofit, manufacturing, and e-commerce industries.
Accounting and Management Experience:
Kathleen generally serves her clients in the role of senior accountant or controller. She offers more than 25 years experience in accounts payable and receivable, payroll and benefits, fixed assets, financial report generation, accounting and payroll controls, and a variety of other business activities.
Prior to joining Warren Whitney, Kathleen worked with a number of both for-profit and nonprofit organizations in Virginia and Ohio. In her most recent experience prior to joining Warren Whitney, she worked for an internet start-up company, where she organized accounting, payroll and benefits, and all customer and vendor contracts, in addition to serving as facilities manager for a company that expanded from 15 employees to more than 80 employees in less than six months.
Working for a local Richmond distributor of custom electric and electronic control systems, Kathleen developed a new fixed asset system, developed their accounting policy and practice manuals, and handled all foreign exchange transactions.
Kathleen has also worked for a number of nonprofit organizations where she was been responsible for accounting, payroll and benefits, grant writing and reporting, purchasing, and training, among many other duties. She has installed computer systems, trained employees, organized ticketing services, and handled employee benefits in a number of small- and mid-sized organizations in central Virginia.
Education and Professional Associations:
After studying at St. Mary-of-the Woods College and Kent State University, Kathleen earned a cum laude degree in Theatre Management from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has served on several boards and committees in her neighborhood association and in her church. She has formed the Virginia Vintage Costume Jewelry Association, and is current president of that group.
