Jessica Smith
Jessica Smith is a member of the administrative team at Warren Whitney. With skills in writing and organization, she provides editing and research support on client projects. She also serves as events coordinator.
Management Experience:
Prior to joining Warren Whitney, Jessica served a one-year term as the Nonprofit & Partner Support/AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) member at HandsOn Greater Richmond. She worked with various nonprofits and schools in the Richmond region, as well as government and faith-based organizations, to organize effective service projects and volunteer opportunities. Jessica also helped HandsOn Greater Richmond significantly increase its partnerships with other area nonprofits and further develop its policies and process documentation.
Before serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, Jessica was the multicultural programming assistant/intern at Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Multicultural & Diversity Initiatives in the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs. For approximately two years, she provided event planning support for university-wide events and acted as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, and leaders of cultural student organizations.
Jessica has developed her writing experience through internships in Richmond, VA and Pittsburgh, PA, including an editorial internship in the Arts & Culture department at Richmond’s Style Weekly.
Education and Professional Associations:
Jessica earned a Bachelor of Humanities & Arts degree in Professional Writing and Art from Carnegie Mellon University. She also holds a Certificate of Achievement in Nonprofit Management from Nonprofit Learning Point, a program of the Partnership for Nonprofit Excellence and Virginia Commonwealth University.
