Bill Ramsey, a Warren Whitney professional, has over 30 years of accounting and finance experience in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. His experience is in the areas of manufacturing, distribution, real estate, and program service organizations. Most of his career has been in private industry and gives Bill the ability to understand a company from the insider’s perspective of an owner and in turn translate those needs toward managing money, risks and exposure, and strategy.
Bill generally serves clients in the role of Controller or CFO. He brings an experienced approach to strategic planning, problem solving, and management of an organization’s financial operations. Most of his career has been in private industry where he enjoyed the diversity of challenges. Prior to joining Warren Whitney, Bill was the Controller for a closely held group of companies with revenues over $80 million, operations in six states, and exports to more than 30 countries. The manufacturing was both discreet and process. Vertical integration was part of the strategy and achieved in part to source materials and for distribution higher in the supply chain. Bill managed accounting, retirement plans, information systems, property and liability insurance risk, and health and life insurance plans. He also worked with financial institutions to provide working capital and longer-term funding needs.
Bill has several years of experience in the not-for-profit world as a Controller, mostly with organizations that provide transformational program services to their clients. He also worked for Best Products as a Senior Auditor, as Director of Finance for Sportable, and provided auditing, general accounting, and tax work for Daniel, Norvelle and Skinnell, CPAs.

Bill holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from Washington & Lee University. He is past Board Chair of James River Day School of Lynchburg, VA and past Board member and Treasurer of Sportable in Richmond.
